About Us

KTC-ZA was established in 2009 as a Special Purpose Vehicle called Electronic Toll Collection (Pty) Ltd to design, build and operate the Gauteng Open Road Tolling solution for SANRAL.  This multi-disciplinary turnkey tolling project was the first open road tolling project on the African continent and remains one of the largest nationally integrated tolling solutions in the world.  KTC-ZA has now emerged from being an SPV and has combined all the experience and capabilities developed over the last 12 years with the IP from our global parent company to provide leading transport technology solutions to the African market.

Our core belief is that the development of infrastructure, in particular roads and rail, is the foundation of enabling global trade for African countries. Of course, it is important to develop infrastructure for electricity, water and communications as well, but without the ability to get products to and from where they are needed, the trade will never flourish.  KTC-ZA will be a trusted partner for national governments, transport agencies and infrastructure funders to ensure that transport infrastructure is delivered and operated as efficiently as possible.

It is with this thinking that we have crafted the vision for our company. We realise that this is a very ambitious vision. This is why we are employing the best African professionals with the drive and motivation to change the fortunes of our continent. We will combine local knowledge with the international intellectual property from Kapsch, but our solutions will always remain authentically African and fully adjusted for local conditions. Our resolve to deliver our vision will not fade and we will humbly continue working towards achieving it!
